And Without Further Ado…

I would like to introduce the winners of MM2K10-
PINKY AND THE BRAINS!!!
I would like to congratulate all members of Pinky & the Brains for playing a great game, and for competing so thouroughly in each aspect of the game that was asked of them. Pinky & the Brains seemed to have a great time playing the game while doing their darnedest to win all those hard-earned points- all while maintaining a great attitude, no matter the late night/early morning hours or lack of sleep. I’m certainly looking forward to what kinds of shenanigans that Pinky comes up with for MM2K11- but I’m sure that it’ll be like nothing we’ve ever seen before!
I would also like to congratulate our 2nd runners-up, The Resistance! The Resistance was an unstoppable force of technical know-how and brute force clue-solving magic- and, no matter what they change their team name to, they will always hold a soft spot as the veteran knights of Team Goat in our hearts.
In our third place runners-up spot is a team after my own heart; my original teammates and good friends, He’s A Wizard! They may have not been called Team Food this year, but they brought the same tenacity and forceful will that brings them into the top 3 finishing teams every year after their first game back in 2004.
Lastly, I would like to thank the other teams that participated, Masters of Madness and the Lords of Hell! I know that it was a long and often trying night for everyone involved, but you guys both did a great job, and I truly hope that you enjoyed the experience- and we all look forward to having you back next year!!
And ah, who could forget my cohorts on Game Control? It was a rocky night- broken clues, wrong addresses, and of course that moment in the game when we realized just how crazy the final battle for points was going to be. Let’s give it up for Alison Boland, Kaitlin Marone, and Matthew Rowe- the only members of GC who were actually in state for the game, they set up and ran the entire thing- traveling from Hot Springs to Little Rock with the rest of the teams, always staying one step ahead of everything in the process. That may have been the worst job in the world for 15 hours, but they completed it with aplomb. And, of course, veteran Dave Hill. From his snowy mountain top in blizzard-hit New York City, Dave ran the hint line and constantly coordinated with the rest of GC in order to control and quash any and all problems that arose. Running this game while actually attending it is hard enough- but of course our Dave Hill managed to dazzle us all by running it from thousands of miles away. And finally… well, me. Lindsey Sharp. I had the easy job of giving out locations and running the Twitter feed- but goddamn if all the teams didn’t run me ragged sending in all those incredible photos taken along the way!
We also ALL need to thank all the fringe participants: All the people who let us use their spaces. Their homes, their buildings, their fields (hope you had fun with that one, Dad!), and their businesses- without all of them and their support, we wouldn’t be able to keep this thing going year after year.
I hope that everyone had as much fun participating in MM2K10 as I did, and I hope that Game Control was able to do the same amount of justice to the game as years past. I thank EVERYONE again from the bottom of my heart for putting up with us all night and allowing all of us to continue to do this year after year. Stay tuned to the ARMM Tumblr for some random stats and great pictures taken during MM2K10!
See you for MM2K11!!
